Cornerstone is a three acre family farm on Vashon Island, in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. Our holdings are; eighty chickens, nine lambs, five ewes, a Jersey Shorthorn cross and a Milking Shorthorn. We work year round with the assistance of two St. Bernards, and a farm cat. Our goal is to respect the land first as all life begins in the soil. The animals are moved often to encourage fertility of the pasture. We are members of the King Conservation District and this year will be installing a large compost system to utilize all the benefits of composted manure. Our vegetable garden and small orchard are tended without the use of chemicals and with respect to permaculture ideals. Our dairy cows are fed grass only, and the diary ewes receive a little organic grain with their alfalfa pellets when we milk them. Having the farm continues to teach us new and unexpected lessons for which we are thankful! We appreciate your support!
